Mandy Janssen is the scientific group lead for characterization of nanoparticle therapeutics and vaccines at NanoImaging Services. Prior to joining NIS in 2017, Mandy spent almost 15 years in the Electron Microscopy field. She obtained her Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Eindhoven University of Engineering in the Netherlands and a PhD in Molecular Pathology from the University of California, San Diego, where both light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were a recurring theme. After spending a few more years as an electron microscopist and liaison for UCSD and TSRI, she found her passion at NIS working with colleagues and clients on characterizing vaccines and other gene and drug delivery systems as part of bringing them safely and rapidly to people that need them.
