We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented scientist interested in analytical method development and cGMP characterization of a wide variety of vaccines and other gene and drug delivery systems via (Cryo) Transmission Electron Microscopy imaging and analysis.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting detailed analyses of transmission electron microscopy (TEM) data to describe structural characteristics of samples; this includes, but is not limited to, specialized particle sizing, fraction counting, 2D classification, and tomographic reconstructions
  • Writing comprehensive reports detailing the findings from TEM image analysis and processing
  • Working across functional groups within NIS and clients to advance TEM method development, qualification, and validation for client projects
  • Developing and writing detailed protocols and reports for analytical method development, qualification, and validation
  • Managing client projects including client communication, experimental design, project scheduling, data evaluation, and data analysis
  • Effectively communicating and collaborating across functional groups to ensure efficient progress toward client goals
  • Reviewing scientific literature to aid in analyses and understanding of projects
  • Presenting project updates and results in NIS internal meetings and to clients
  • Ensure meticulous GMP documentation and compliance, including standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Collaborate with Quality to support internal and external audits and address compliance issues

A successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • BS or MS in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Virology, or a related area of the life sciences with 2-5 years of analytical development experience
  • Experience in writing/reviewing protocols, SOPs, and technical reports
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Basic understanding of ICH guidelines for method qualification/validation
  • Detail oriented, proficient in GDP, and proven understanding of quality management systems
  • Experience in transmission electron microscopy (TEM) image evaluation and data analysis is a plus
  • Excellent and demonstrable scientific writing and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrate a strong focus on customer service and client satisfaction while maintaining high ethics and scientific integrity
  • Ability to maintain rigorous attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to work on multiple challenging projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States (US Citizen / Permanent Resident)

Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 a year
